150th Anniversary Path
Last year, it was Hebden Royd CE Primary School‘s 150th birthday! It is hard to believe that the school has been here since 1871. The families and children that have passed through the doors of our wonderful school are many.
We are proud that we still serve our local community and continue to impact the lives of so many families and children from within the valley.
The PTFA wanted to celebrate our 150th year by embarking on a project that would have a lasting legacy; something that would improve the lives, not just of our school community, but the wider community too. Unfortunately, Covid put paid to our plans last year so we have had to wait until now to put our plans into action!
Over the past year, the PTFA have worked tirelessly to raise funds through various school events so work on our anniversary path can begin. This path will shorten the walk for families who travel from Eastwood/Charlestown area and minimise the amount of time they have to spend walking next to an extremely busy road. It will also benefit the wider community who walk through the field to Mytholm Meadows and Church Lane. The development of this path will also run alongside the on-going development of our forest school site.
We hope that the path will be complete by the end of October 2022. Have a look at the pictures and plan below.
