Year 3/4 Halifax Trip
We began our trip in the Piece Hall, finding out how it was used to trade cloth. It opened in 1779 for this purpose, however since then it has been used for many other reasons and is a unique feature of the town.
In the afternoon, we visited the lovely people in the Industrial museum just next door to the Piece Hall. We found out about many industries from the past that people would have worked in, from coal mining to weaving cloth in mills. We had fun trying out some of the tasks people would have carried out in the past, even dressing up in some of the clothes they would have worn. It was a very interesting and entertaining day!
