Pike Hike
A team of PTFA supporters battled through treacherous conditions on Sunday on the sponsored Hike to the Pike. Despite non-stop rain, biting winds, stinging hail and, at one point, being assailed by a muck spreader, we made it to Stoodley Pike. There we cowered in its shelter to wring out our gloves and hats, have some well-deserved chocolate and to take a summit photo as quickly as possible before the photographer was hurled off the moor’s edge by the gale (hence jaunty angle). After a steep, sliding descent and with boots audibly sloshing with rainwater, we embarked on the long walk back. Just as the rain had started shortly before we set off, so it passed through as we arrived home: our timing could not have been more perfect to ensure we maximally earnt our sponsorship, which at current count comes to £220. Thank you to all our sponsors. If you would still like to contribute towards the PTFA in recognition of the endeavours of these (fool)hardy souls, please do so at the school office.
