Liz Flanagan - Local Author Visit

On Monday 9th January we were lucky enough to have a visit from Liz Flanagan - a local author; she has written many children’s novels including: Dragon Daughter, Rise of the Shadow Dragons & Eden Summer. Liz came to promote her new novel WILDSMITH Into the Dark Forest. You can find out more about her books here https://lizflanagan.co.uk/

She led a whole school assembly sharing with the children how she gets her fabulous ideas and how she approaches the writing process. The children asked lots of questions and were keen to know how an idea becomes a published piece of work.

Liz then ran a workshop for our Year 5/6 children. They were to think of a character and write an opening for their story; Liz supported the children in this process to help them develop a clear idea of character and setting.

Two lucky children were given a copy of WILDSMITH Into the Dark Forest to read and review. They felt extremely honoured to be some of the first children to get to read Liz’s new novel!
