Green Fingers
Development of our school field
Our Year 6 children went down to the school field to plant some hedgerows. Year 6 were chosen so that they can leave their mark on our school community; these hedgerows will be here long after the children have left to secondary education and will be a lasting legacy.
The PTFA are working hard to develop an area of the field so that we can use it as a Forest School site. Hedgerows provide vital resources for mammals, birds, and insect species. As well as being an important habitat in their own right. These hedgerows, when they're fully grown, will also add a little colour during spring and summer when they flower. We planted Blackthorn, Hawthorn, Spindle & Dog Rose.
