EYFS - Inspirational Women
As part of our topic work, based on the book series ‘Little People, Big Dreams’, we were very lucky to have three special visitors come into school to speak to the children . Rowan’s mummy came in and told us all about her life as an actress and a musician. She made us realise that following your dreams can lead to wonderful things.
Wrenne’s mummy came in to tell us all about the work she does for Oxfam and how it helps people who are caught up in terrible disasters. We learned how we can help by donating or buying things from the shop. It was fascinating to see some of the weird and wonderful things that have been donated!
Teresa Lipinski came in and told us all about her very special job. Teresa is a singer and she uses this skill to help patients in hospital. She explained that singing helps patients to use their lungs and gain strength. It also helps to make patients feel happier. Teresa also taught us a song, which certainly made us giggle and feel happy!
We learnt that if we have a creative skill we can use it to help and bring joy to people who are going through tough times.
