Learning at Home
On this page you will find inspiration for you and your kids to keep learning while at home. We have tried to make this as fun and as varied as possible, with a mix of activities for your kids to do alone or together with you.
Please note that as these are all third party sites we can’t be responsible for their content.
Class Dojo - Online Learning Portal
Our new online learning platform is Class Dojo. This is a digital school communication platform that teachers, students, and families can use every day to build close-knit communities by sharing what’s being learned at home through photos, videos, and messages. Our Teachers will be setting work for their classes, and your child will then be able to upload completed work / projects and receive feedback from their teacher, keeping us all connected during these challenging times.
To access this please use the code that has been sent to you via text to login and create a parent account; from there you will be able to create a student account for your children. If you are having issues…
with logging in as a parent then please contact us via email
with creating a student account then use the messaging options in Class Dojo to ask your child’s teacher to send you a new unique code.
Enjoy!
Creating a Timetable
If you are at home together we’d suggest putting some structure into your day. Remember to make time for fun, physical activity and time to relax. It does not all have to be “educational” ;)
Here are some examples timetables from our very own Mr Paton. They are very much for inspiration, we don’t expect parents or carers to run full days of teaching!
The Stay at Home Survival Guide
Creative art and crafts people The Imagination Tree have put together a practical and helpful guide for parents who have their kids at home. As well as activities there are some great suggestions on how to schedule your family’s day. There is certainly lots to do!
White Rose Maths
The lovely people at White Rose Maths have prepared a series of five maths lessons for each year group. They will be keeping it fresh with new ones, and every lesson comes with a short video showing you clearly and simply how to help your child to complete the activity successfully.
We follow White Rose planning in every class in school so every lesson the website covers would have been covered if they had been at school. Nice
